Camp Chef Portable Flat Top Grill tips

1. You can adjust the height of the grill to your desired height.

This grill has an adjustable height and fold down leg, so you can cook on different surfaces. The attached fold-out leg allows you to get the grill off the ground, when cooking in an uneven surface.

2. Use a solid surface as a cooking area

This grill can be used on any solid surfaces such as concrete or bricks. Camp Chef Portable Flat Top Grill is not recommended for wooden surfaces such as wooden decks and decks with lattice work.

3. Avoid heavy foil for flat top grilling

To avoid damaging your grill, try to avoid using heavy foil to cook your food on flat-top grilling style.

4. Use a drip pan to capture any extra residue

Any excess grease or food drippings will run down the sides of the grill and be captured by the drip pan below. If you remove your grill for any reason, use caution when going under your grill; there may be some grease on the bottom that can catch you unaware.

5. Check the burner temperature before cooking

Before cooking anything, check the burners; make sure that they are turned all the way up to high. High heat burns food faster than medium heat and is more likely to create flare-ups (barking). Use your camp stove/campfire as a gauge since it will keep your cook times consistent.
